About

ACLU Louisiana

The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Louisiana (ACLU of Louisiana) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and advancing civil rights and civil liberties for all people in the state. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, the ACLU of Louisiana challenges government abuse, defends individual freedoms, and promotes justice and equality.

Services & Eligibility

The ACLU of Louisiana considers requests for assistance from individuals whose civil rights or civil liberties have been violated, particularly in cases involving constitutional issues such as free speech, discrimination, police misconduct, or unlawful government actions. While it does not provide general legal services, it may offer legal support or take on cases that have broader civil rights implications. Eligibility is based on the nature of the issue, not income or immigration status.
