24th JDC Self-Help Center

The 24th Judicial District Court Self-Help Resource Center (SHRC), in partnership with the Pro Bono Project, provides free legal information and assistance to individuals in Jefferson Parish who are representing themselves in civil court. The center provides assistance with court forms, guidance on court procedures, and resources to help prepare for hearings. Both in-person and virtual services are available.It operates in-person at the courthouse on Tuesdays and Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Services & Eligibility

The 24th JDC Self-Help Center is available to income-eligible self-represented litigants in Jefferson Parish with civil legal issues such as divorce, custody, and small claims. It is designed for people who do not have a lawyer and need help understanding the legal process. The center provides legal information—not legal advice. Income eligibility is generally up to 200% of the federal poverty level.
