The Pro Bono Project connects low-income people in the New Orleans and Northshore areas with volunteer lawyers who provide free help for civil legal issues like family law, housing, debt, and estate matters.
Services & Eligibility
To qualify for help from The Pro Bono Project, individuals must live in one of six local parishes, have a civil (not criminal) legal issue, and meet income requirements based on federal poverty guidelines, generally up to 200% of the federal poverty level. The Project does not accept cases involving domestic violence, tort claims, or lawsuits seeking damages, but does not consider citizenship status when determining eligibility.
